I think yesterday marked the entrance of a new phase of my time in Belgium: the good weather phase. I’m trying to get a lot of reading done and finish an essay before Alex gets here tomorrow and I had the pleasure of doing it in the backyard… hanging out with 2 of my good friends: sun & light breeze. 3 of my housemates (jelte, alessandra & bob) were out there for a while, we had some ice cream and speculoos. I can’t wait for all the J-house bbqs, bonfires and hangouts I keep hearing about from the veterans. Vincent brought out his hookah last night and we smoked outside which was incredibly relaxing and an overall great time. A few of us went out afterwards and ended up playing poker at one of the bars at the Oude Markt. Unfortunately I did miss out on a 2am breakfast afterwards which took place at the other dorm, vives.
Speaking of the Oude Markt, it looks like a completely different place now that it’s getting warmer. All the bars have whipped out their chairs and the whole area is swarming with students. I didn’t take this picture, but I feel it summerizes what went down pretty well:
Since my last post I went to Italy and spent my birthday in Venice, followed by Verona & Milan, where I got to see Ewa, Bk and Amanda, an awesome birthday semi-surprise. 3 days after getting back Ewa came to Belgium so we spent a night in Leuven, stayed up all night and frintically ran from the kebab place to make our bus to Amsterdam, which was also a great time. Paris & Amsterdam (again) here I come next week!
