Study Break

This is how I’ve been spending is thus far:

Last Tuesday I went to Rome. I thought I wasn’t going to get a chance to go, but how could I leave Europe without seeing Rome? So I did. And it was fantastic. More bloggage on it later.

2.5 days later, with much much delay due to an unaccounted for passenger on my flight, I got back to Jhouse, dinner -with homemade cornbread- was waiting for me thanks to JP. He then proceeded to tell me how I would be spending my weekend: Maastricht on Saturday (AMAZING daytrip- on of my favorites, if not my favorite. Good times with good people) and Jazz Festival in Brussels on Sunday, which was also a lot of fun and as most Brussels trips do, ended up in Delirium.

Monday & Tuesday are a haze. A lazy lazy haze. The weather got rather shitty. I started to work on one of the 3 papers due on Friday - key word: started. To explain how embarrassingly lazy I’ve been I’ll do a quick rundown of yesterday: Got up past noon for sure. A couple of hours later Pilar and I went down to make pizza from scratch for breakfast. While it was baking, JP came down to make the Indian we were going to eat for lunch. So the 3 of us and Manolo spent a few hours in the kitchen eating and such.

After a while, went back to our room… talked about running, showering, paper writing - which inevitably and naturally led to a nap. A nap during which I woke up in the middle of, consumed some chocolate and fell back asleep. Slept until about 9, at which point we went downstairs to the kitchen where Manolo and JP were. So we ate the meal made for us. Hung around. Went to our room, hung out watched some East Bound and Down.

Feeling somewhat ashamed of myself, I woke up at 8:30 this moring, showered, went to the grocery store, cleaned the room and have been writing papers up until now… it’s 8:30ish.

It’s clearly reward time: beer break at Oude Markt.
